We’re incredibly proud to share some amazing news from our very own director, Charlie Webster. Just three years after receiving a life-saving liver transplant, Charlie has struck gold - literally - at the British Transplant Games, winning first place in men’s golf.
Charlie’s journey to this moment has been nothing short of extraordinary. For more than 18 years, he battled a rare and progressive liver condition called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). In 2022, thanks to the generosity of an organ donor and their family, Charlie received the transplant that saved his life.
“It still feels surreal,” Charlie says. “To go from years of illness and uncertainty to standing on top of the podium - this medal isn’t just for me, it’s for my donor and their family. Their gift gave me my life back.”
The British Transplant Games, held every year to celebrate the gift of life and raise awareness for organ donation, bring together transplant recipients from across the UK. This year’s event was bigger than ever, filled with moving stories of resilience, determination, and hope.
But Charlie’s sporting journey doesn’t stop there. This August, he heads to Dresden in Germany, to represent Team Great Britain at the World Transplant Games, joining athletes from more than 60 countries.
“It’s an honour to wear the GB colours,” Charlie says. “I’m playing for everyone still waiting for a transplant and to show what’s possible when you get a second chance.”
Away from the fairways, Charlie leads Websters Estate Agents here in Norwich and Drayton. Our team is passionate about property, rooted in the local community, and dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Charlie’s story is a powerful reminder of how life-changing organ donation can be. He continues to raise awareness about PSC and actively encourages everyone to join the organ donor register.
From all of us here at Websters, we couldn’t be prouder.
